Walking and Cycling
Many people enjoy walking and cycling, both for leisure and for everyday local journeys. We know this is great for our health and wellbeing as well as being good for the environment. Our aim is to make it as easy, attractive, interesting and as safe as possible for all of us to pull on some boots or hop on a bicycle and get out and about.
Active Travel Route
We are currently working on the feasibility and design of an active travel route to improve safety for walkers, cyclists and people using mobility aids. Read more details on our Active Travel Route page.
Walking and Cycling Tours around Culbokie
There are lots of interesting walks and cycle rides that start and finish in the village and some of these take in particular points of interest. View these on our Suggested Routes page and please let us know your local favourites that could be added. Any suggestions should be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org . It's also worth having a look at the cycling route cards produced by Transition Black Isle.
Walking and Cycling Events and Activities
Walking and cycling present great social, learning and development opportunities for all ages and abilities and we are keen to support all sorts of community activities around the themes of walking and cycling. At the moment, Covid-19 restrictions mean that all group activities have been put on hold, but with the roads almost uncannily quiet, this is a good time to get the bike dusted off and try out some local rides as part of your daily exercise!
