Strong Heart, Healthy Community

Culbokie Woods

The woods to the south of the village, owned by Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS), are a fantastic resource, enjoyed by walkers (with and without dogs!), cyclists, bird watchers, wild food foragers and lots more. Culbokie Community Trust has a small group which liaises with FLS to improve facilities, and promotes some of the lesser-known features of the woods, historical, geological and biological.

CCT hosts guided walks, wildlife events and work parties to keep the paths clear. If anyone is interested in helping please contact info@culbokiect.org.

The woods are home to a diverse range of flora, fauna and fungi - browse our collection of photographs for a taster of what you might see.

Maps and Leaflets

The group has produced a downloadable information leaflet which includes details about the management, geology, wildlife, history and folklore of the woodland. A map is also available as a separate document.

Past activities that have taken place in the Culbokie Woods can be found in the Landscape section of the Culbokie History website.
